Carl Schmitt and others who were very anti-Marxist freely admitted that Karl Marx was a sociological genius. Yes of course he didn't think up his theories from whole cloth and drew on a lot of other thinkers, but this is true of all great thinkers. Whatever your views on the desirability of Socialism Marxian analysis nearly always reveals a lot about world around us if you make even the slightest attempt to use in the manner that he did (a lot of Trots and anarchists apply a total caricature of it).

Marx's real "crime" was that he showed that the social order is not ordained by God, or even by Darwinian evolution, but by objective productive forces. That means that the ruling class has no moral or intellectual claim to their position of privilege. They hold on to that privilege only through massive physical violence and the violence of propaganda.

There were though ideas both in late antiquity and the middle ages about primordial communism and that states and private property arising through a descent into unrighteousness.

Well it is just a fact that women generally are less interested in politics than men however I'm talking about the women who are actually interested in politics.

I'd say that those women who do get into conspiracy theories gravitate towards the extreme verges of nuttiness.

dogsgod, u say backed by western dollars, i say backed by jewish dollars. personally, i believe in the hegelian dialectic, not dialectical materialism. capitalism and communism are two sides of the one coin, or shud i say shekhel. im not a capitalist, i am not a communist, i see the puppet master behind both. im a gaelic irish realist.
Well there is certainly a strong argument to be made for your position.
I'm an optimist and I believe collectivism and co-operation is our only hope for long term survival as a species on this planet
but sadly any attempt to do so thus far has been successfully hijacked by individualist psychopaths.
Perhaps we are not evolved enough as a species yet to embrace collectivism.
Maybe the monkey in us is just too difficult to excise..

Monkeys are collective animals. Human beings will live collectively if they're left alone. It's only the psychopaths who want to make Mother Earth into their private property and turn everything in her into an instrument of their individual will.

While superficially collectivist, monkeys live in a hierarchy Tadhg. They are always jockeying for position.
That reflects our own current depraved behaviour more so than any rationally driven "tit for tat" collectivism
we might aspire to.

I think hierarchy will always be needed in any collective. Specially one as complex as technological human society. You would hardly say a medical student should have the same authority as an experienced surgeon.

Him and his ilk socialise with pedo's and perverts because to them everyone's the same. Rapists and doctors are just people. You're a fascist if you don't accept the pedo's and rapists.
Twisted degenerate reprobates all.

We can have our own specialist areas in which our views hold sway without gaining greater overall political power.

One of the problems in the USSR was the extra privilege and clout given to technical people tasked with building up industry. Eventually this threatened even the paranoid Stalin, resulting in the purging of these people. From one extreme to the other.

In a proper collective, neither technocrats nor managers should wield excessive political power by virtue
of their particular skills. This was not the case in the USSR alas.

I don't think that system would ever work in reality. Even with the Zapatistas there is an unwritten rule that the EZLN holds more sway in political matters.

You are the troll here, and I have reported you.
I have reviewed this thread, Youngdan has asked a question that you have continued to reply to despite Youngdan asking for other opinions other than your own. I fail to see why you have reported this when it is clear that Youngdan was inviting alternative views to your own. On this occasion, I see no reason to suggest this was trolling by Youngdan.

You obviously don't make a living on six acres.
horsebox, my grandmother reared my father (on her own) in the 1930s and 40s on that six acres ( a few dairy cows). he won a scholarship and made a life for himself later. she and he were gaels in the truest meaning of the word. and i am married to it. i was offered one and a half million for it (God strike me down if im lying to u) when it was rezoned during tiger lunacy. i didnt sell as she made me promise her id never sell it. bull mccabe aint a patch on me when it comes to my field. gaels keep their promises, unlike the irish who lie thru their fucking teeth now.

I like the sound of this poster. Hard working Irish man that keeps his word even when they dangle money in his face. A rare trait indeed these days.
