The battery would quickly run out and then it would just be a doorstop.MIT in conjunction with the Dept of Defense have a research facility near me and supposedly they can cloak tanks etc. So why would anybody think that an advanced civilization would be visible. It is extremely unlikely that a small craft would be flying about on it's own and crash. Also the talk about reverse engineering future technology is a bit fat fetched as well. If I dropped my smart phone back in 1775, Benjamin Franklin , a leading scientist, would be clueless.
Probably a more credible case could be made for time travel from the future than talk of little grey men with large eyes
Beat me to it.The battery would quickly run out and then it would just be a doorstop.
No network or internet might be a factor too!
It depends on how many resources he has at his disposal, (which is really a counter-argument to a conspiracy theory of alien-inspired technology). He would not be able to back engineer it. Ye two mutts even can use it, or so it appears.
How long did it take you to yype that because it is 99% rubbish and 1% wrong. He would know all about acid.It depends on how many resources he has at his disposal, (which is really a counter-argument to a conspiracy theory of alien-inspired technology).
He would have a certain amount of time to figure out that it can use light to display information, it responds to his fingers, emits sounds and imitates the human voice, that it can vibrate (I assume smartphones vibrate? ), that it apparently knows which way is up and down. It can see, and it can remember, and show super realistic-pictures. It can show dreams(he hasn't heard of video) and memories. If he finds the calculator he knows it can receive symbols and calculate.
He would see that parts of it are metal and glass, and note that there is a strange material (plastic). He would have access to a microscope. He might well decide to take it apart, he would see tiny metal filigree, minute constructions.
With his microscope he'd see that the image can be constructed with a grid of red green and blue rectangles.
He'd see the battery, read "made in china" and shit his pants.
He'd see warnings to not dissassemble or pierce.
He'd disassemble or pierce it, it would explode.
He'd see that battery contains acid(he wouldn't understand acid, but he might well know it's a chemical burn).
He might not figure out that the key to the advances were miniaturisation, although the screen pixel might well give him the idea.
He wouldn't be able to reverse engineer it, but if he shared his findings, everyone would know that acid and metal, pixel representation and maybe miniaturisation were key to creating that marvel and they'd throw a lot more effort into researching them.
Now, take a little liberty, and imagine that the battery didn't run out. He'd keep futzing about with the user interface. He'd find the calculator and start playing around. He'd find programmes using visuals and paradigms that he'd never seen before, which might make a little bit of sense to the best minds of his fields.
It wouldn't lead to the invention of smartphones per se, but it push general development a lot farther along.
Yeah, I was thinking about shortening it to "it's not just the technology but the data stored within".How long did it take you to yype that because it is 99% rubbish and 1% wrong. He would know all about acid.

Hearing, believing and trusting the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross; His death, burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins, the gospel of our salvation, seals us with that Holy Spirit of Promise.
