"The European Union is a union of 27 member states. The UK is only one country. And we have a population and a market of 450 million people,” Mr Varadkar said.

“The UK, it’s about 60 (million). So if these were two teams up against each other playing football, who do you think has the stronger team?”

If Leo were not putting his own euro-career ambitions first, he might take a different line. It is now in Ireland’s interests to play a part in helping the UK achieve a favorable deal with the EU. And Leo knows that, but seems unable to stop cosying up to the EU, be that in Ireland’s interests or not.

He keeps going on about being in a bloc of 450m. This is delusion.

He's the unelected leader of a country of 4.8m with very close cultural, linguistic and historical ties to Britain.

Again we have the Indian showing his utter worthlessness as a representative for this country.

Negotiations haven’t even begun on trade deals etc. with the post-Brexit UK, and Varadkar is engaged in needlessly hostile and utterly baseless “my Dad is bigger than your Dad” type of nonsense towards the British leadership.

In realty the British departure is tantamount to roughly the 19 smallest of the remaining 27 states jumping ship. To make an anatomical analogy to the human body, the EU is the one that’s going to be look like it drove over an IED in Baghdad, not the Brits, if indeed this wound doesn’t prove fatal.

Apart from that. I don't think he understands how rural Ireland is dependant on the UK for jobs, in Donegal there is a huge cohort living in the UK and sending money home for the wife and kid's and to help build a house. To say nothing of the ones receiving a British pension.
At Xmas and the summer the tourist economy in Donegal is boosted by UK resident coming home, not American or any others primary irish living on the UK.

Varadkar is an economic illiterate and just pushing the Brussesl fear porn to keep the 27 other States in line. The truth is that the EU is in a recession ,because of its failed Economic policies, which are idiotic.
Its currency the Euro is a trap for the Southern European States, who cannot devalue to stimulate their export markets and cannot invest in domestic Industry to alleviate the high unemployment figures.
Germany is in recession ,because it has lost a large part of their export sales to the impoverished Southern States and failed to take up the slack by internal infrastructure investment. Merkel operates on a Swabian Housewifes kitchen idea of how an Economy works/
The UK has escaped a sinking ship and will boom ,with trade with the wide world.

Was watching A very interesting documentary about the City of London
The city being the square mile, the financial area,
if Leo thinks he is going to pull the wool over these gangsters
in the City of London, he and pascal are sorely deluded
There a reason London is the financial capital
