- By the Gulag wall.
The Great General was born into a poor family in Iran the 11th of March, 1957. An auspicious day for Iran and the world. His father died young leaving his mother with debts relating to the family's tiny farm. The young lad went to work on a building site to take the burden off his dear mother. He remained in the building industry for all of the 1970s, until the Islamic Revolution of 1979. He then stepped forward into the ranks of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, where his leadership qualities were quickly noticed.
When Saddam Hussein's troops, backed by the US Régime, crossed the border into Iran, the young Soleimani was one of those chosen to lead Iran's fight for survival. On the battlefield he led his men from the front and never asked them to endure anything that he wasn't also enduring. His men idolized him for this. Soleimani took a bullet to the stomach and was hospitalized. As soon as he could walk again, he signed himself out and made his way back to the battlefield, where he was made Commander of an entire Division - while still not yet 30 years old. His men affectionately called him "the goat thief," as he would manage to round up some goats in unexpected places to feed his men.
It was during this war that Soleimani demonstrated that not only was he a great military commander, but he was also a highly imaginative and effective politician. He made alliances with Kurd and Shia groups inside Iraq itself, and became the effective leader of an anti-Saddam insurgency inside Iraq, which sapped Saddam's ability to wage war effectively in Iran.
After Saddam's invasion had been defeated, Iran found itself targeted by a new and insidious danger. Iran found itself being flooded by opium from Afghanistan - very likely trafficked by the CIA. Soleimani was put in charge of the operation to defeat this threat. He spent most of the 1990s engaged in this great task, and was eventually successful, earning him the gratitude and admiration of his countrymen.
After the bombing of the Twin Towers in New York, the Iranian government made the decision that the radical Islamism being promoted by Osama Bin Laden was a serious danger to Iran and all Shia people. It decided to work with the US Régime to bring down Bin Laden and his Taliban protectors. Soleimani was sent to Afghanistan and was the main man behind forming what was publicly known as "the Northern Alliance." This alliance was really militarily ineffective, but it gave the US invasion a fig leaf of respectability for the international media. It may be that the Anglo-Saxon hatred of Soleimani dates from this time. The Saxon has always hated anyone better and more effective than him. Of course, Bin Laden was Septic Sam's man. Reagan had armed and funded him against the Soviets and had made his brand of extreme Wahabbism respectable to a whole generation of young Muslims across the world. Before Reagan, Wahhabism was very much a fringe idea.
Soleimani was then appointed Commander of the Quds Force, which is the external wing of the Revolutionary Guard. His first action was to travel to Lebanon to strengthen Iran's ties with Hezbollah. Hezbollah already had the love of God in their hearts and the will to defend the innocent and the oppressed, but they lacked the modern weaponry needed to become a world class fighting force. Soleimani changed all that, and there can be no doubt that his work was quickly rewarded in the form of a crushing defeat for the Israeli invaders in 2006, when the stunned IDF generals were forced to run back to Israel, leaving their burning tanks behind them - and Hezbollah in full command of the battlefield.
Around the same time, Shia militias in Iraq were engaged in a bloody conflict with US and British occupation forces. The Shia were untrained, undisciplined, badly armed, and were being annihilated by the Anglo-Saxon invaders. General Soleimani was asked by his nation to travel to Iraq and turn the Shia into an effective fighting force. As always, Soleimani accepted the task his people asked of him. Soleimani, always an enterprising and energetic intellect, looked around for examples of poorly armed and trained, but dedicated men, chastising a much greater force. He starting training the Shia in methods the Provisional IRA had perfected against this very enemy. Before long, a military force that had trillions of dollars and the most advanced weapons and equipment known to man, was living in fear of amatures with home made bombs and rocket launchers. Once again, General Soleimani had correctly evaluated the battlefield and the inherent weakness of the enemy. Before long, the Anglo-Saxon invaders were suing for peace and agreeing to allow Iraqis to rule Iraq.
But, General Soleimani, despite two decades of constant war, two decades in which he had raised the glory of his people up to heights not seen since the ancient glories of Cyrus and Xerxes, despite all he had achieved, there was still no rest for him. A new danger to his people had been spawned by Obama and Crooked Hillary - ISIS. Hillary Clinton raided the arms depots of raped Libya and trafficked them to ISIS in Syria - including chemical weapons. She also recruited Libyan and other international Jihadist terrorists to travel to Syria and join ISIS and other US backed terrorist groups. Obama and Hillary felt sure that what they had done to Libya would soon be the fate of Syria. And Iran would be next.
Once again, Soleimani was called on by his nation to perform yet another miracle. And, once again, the General's keen eye surveyed the battlefield. He realized that Syria was lost unless something almost unimaginable were to happen - that Russia would risk a direct military confrontation with the US Régime and come to the aid of the Syrian state. Soleimani traveled to Moscow and met with Vladimir Putin. And the miracle came to pass.
However, beating ISIS was going to be no easy task. They had billions of dollars worth of US and Israeli weapons and equipment and they had US and British special forces training them how to use them in training camps in Jordan. Back in Iraq, ISIS had taken Mosul, where the US trained Iraqi Army just fled the scene and left ISIS with millions of dollars worth of US military equipment. Soon, ISIS were at the gates of Baghdad and lobbing mortars and rockets into the city. The US Army had no intention in getting involved, so it was certain that the capital would fall. Once again, Soleimani made the difference. He convinced all the squabbling Shia militias to stop their infighting and work together under a single command. He also managed to organise Kurdish militias and get them to co-ordinate with the Shia. Before long, Baghdad was saved, and Soleimani personally led the advance to re-take Tikrit from ISIS forces. By now, the stunned Yanks were so embarrassed they they were left with no option but to join in the fight. As always, General Soleimani was not one to bear grudges, and willingly fought along side the Americans.
In the above, I have only given a small sample of the brilliant and noble deeds of General Soleimani. He was the kind of man that is only born to great and ancient nations. And then only once in many centuries. The cowardly and duplicitous Saxon knows this well, and sought to deprive the Iranian people of their darling General and Shining Jewel of Honour.
Although his adult life was lived on the battlefield, his final task was as a man of peace. He had been asked by his nation to take their part in a peace negotiation with Saudi Arabia, being brokered by the Iraqi government. Peace between Saudi Arabia and Iran seems almost unimaginable - and yet, so do all the many victories the General achieved. Here was a man who never knew defeat. Who never knew what failure felt like. And only a man of his stature could make the compromises needed for peace. What a future we might have had. An end to the brutal war in Yemen. Saudi Arabia and Iran living together and helping each other to achieve greatness. Thousands, and hundreds of thousands, and millions of people in the future spared the horror of war.
But, we will never know. Because the man best placed to bring peace to the Middle East was cut down by the cowardly Saxon assassin. General Soleimani used to say "It is the Martyrs who won the war." God has granted this great and noble man the honour of joining His Martyrs.
