The Irish scientists who are debunking climate change alarmism

Ronan and Michael Connolly sat down with investigative journalist Gemma O'Doherty to discuss their findings about climate change. Imelda Connolly also joined the conversation towards the end.

I'd agree with these fellows. The earth warms and cools all the time. Nothing to do with mankind. But, quite apart from all of that, we have to stop the colossal waste of oil. We need proper public transport systems, and we need to stop the property mania that's forcing people to live a hundred miles or more away from where they work. Wanton production of plastic trash needs to stop too. We need to produce fewer, but better quality, products.

Is the end result not the same, call it what you want but whatever-it is, we need to do the same things

I think we'll get a better result if we tell the truth. Global Warming is being used as yet another "crisis" to herd the population into doing and thinking what benefits the elites.

"man made Climate change" due to Co2 is being used to sell more products and create new markets while
the real man made pollution and waste problems are not being addressed at all as that would involve
costly changes to current corporate behaviour and a loss of profits

Very true a chara. Just look at the wind turbine scam. A brilliant way to steal public funds for the enrichment of the ruling class.

I would suspect an large part of this is people who think they are so special and important that they think they effect the world in one way and so can do so in another. Its my fault/your fault and i have the solution.

Vanity and pride are rampant, as there are no checks on such behavior anymore, let alone moral directions etc..

Remove organised religion on the masses and you get all kinds of mental illnesses coalescing without something top down in place to counter such behaviors.

Of course vanity and pride may relate more to those at the top, and the rest of the population is acting out of desperation, looking for something to believe in or get behind/follow in a world increasingly devoid of anything worthwhile, wrecked by cultural liberalism and its international capitalist supporters.

Of course we have an effect on the natural cycles of the climate, where change is built into the definition of the word itself.
Its not AGW that we should be worried about its AGP, as in polution.

Science is never settled, any time your hear this they are longer promoting science but instead dogma.
Some believe we are genetically predisposed to religious thought in general in the population due to many factors, and that this does not go away just because you do not follow an organised religion.

But it is not clear how that contribution changes with age. A few studies on children and teenagers – with biological or adoptive parents – show the children tend to mirror the religious beliefs and behaviours of the parents with whom they live. That suggests genes play a small role in religiousness at that age.

Now, researchers led by Laura Koenig, a psychology graduate student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, US, have tried to tease apart how the effects of nature and nurture vary with time. Their study suggests that as adolescents grow into adults, genetic factors become more important in determining how religious a person is, while environmental factors wane.
Rowthorn has developed a model that shows that the genetic components that predispose a person toward religion are currently “hitchhiking” on the back of the religious cultural practice of high fertility rates. Even if some of the people who are born to religious parents defect from religion and become secular, the religious genes they carry (which encompass other personality traits, such as obedience and conservativism) will still spread throughout society, according to the model’s numerical simulations.
The parade of geological changes and extreme weather events around the world since 2011 has been stunning. Perhaps that's part of why, as the Public Religion Research Institute reported on Friday, "The number of Americans who believe that natural disasters are evidence of the apocalypse has increased somewhat over the past couple years."
There are continuous prophecies being claimed and debunked over the last fifty years that the world will end or there is no going back in x amount of years.

If the above was to be believed then forget about it, its already too late.

Prophecies which are constantly being updated

Climate “science” certainly fulfills the criteria for acceptance as the new state religion. There is no lack of public funding for climate researchers in all areas, from policy to economics to biology to medicine to even climatology, who devise ways for society to avoid “climate liability”. This army of protectors of humanity are the (now proverbial) “97%”, who don’t expressly denounce the climate change god.
The new state religions promoted since WW2 are many, and this looks no different to me.

The mood was so depressing in 1816 that the end of the world was prophesied and believed by some. The original rumour apparently came from an Italian astronomer, from which it gets its name of the “Bologna prediction”. The anonymous Italian said that there world would end on July 18th 1816. The sun would be extinguished and all life would be destroyed. This made a fair amount of sense to some Europeans, for whom the weather was much worse than the normal variability of the climate . It was clear by June that summer would not arrive. Sunsets had a yellow sulphurous look. Spots were clearly visible on the face of the Sun. On June 24th the sunspots were almost frighteningly clear to the naked eye. It made sense that the rapid increase in sunspots was responsible for the fall in summer temperatures. To some it made equal sense that the slow visible increase in spots would blot out the sum completely, or that the sunspots were lakes of water that would extinguish the flames. Neither was true, and the newspapers tried to argue the point with science.
The above is an example of such hysteria, after the little ice age was ending Little Ice Age - Wikipedia, the climate was going back into a warm cycle, except the year without a summer occurred in 1816, Year Without a Summer - Wikipedia and mass hysteria ensued again.
