This is a very early photography of O'Connell Street - or Sackville Street as it was then. It's from about 1860. Notice the statue of O'Connell has yet to be installed - it was not completed until 1880. You will also notice that the bridge is much smaller than the current O'Connell Bridge. The full length of the street is beautifully cobbled.

Construction of O'Connell Bridge as it exists today, with two lanes and as wide as O'Connell Street itself. This photograph is from 1879. Here we are facing south towards D'Olier Street and Westmoreland Street.
