Really?
Just the head?
Yes he is sitting there in the state apartments in the same room as several other royals. it's a marble head like the roman style. The Georgian era royals had more money then sense and often lavished money on pompos crap whilst the ppl starved. It's just coincidence that he lost his head in a guillotine after the fact. It's kinda funny in retrospect. There's also a few 20 ft paintings of George the third "the one that lost america" "the famine queen" ie Victoria. William of orange, Cromwell and several assorted sundry British scumbags. It's an interesting snapshot into the guilded world of our conquers.

Some of the paintings were from 1890. It's ironic to think of the events that happened in the next fifty years after that. Ww1 ww2 Irish independence civil war. Did they have any idea their world was coming to an end.

Where did the terms 'Left Wing' and 'Right Wing' come from?

The split dates to the summer of 1789, when members of the French National Assembly met to begin drafting a constitution. The delegates were deeply divided over the issue of how much authority King Louis XVI should have, and as the debate raged, the two main factions each staked out territory in the assembly hall. The anti-royalist revolutionaries seated themselves to the presiding officer’s left, while the more conservative, aristocratic supporters of the monarchy gathered to the right.

I'm a great admirer of Maximilian Robespierre. He had the true Revolutionary Spirit.

There seems to be something within the French character which causes them to revolt whenever they feel they are suffering from an injustice. They are certainly not a docile population. Napoleon's nephew, Emperor Napoleon III commissioned Baron Haussmann to redesign Paris itself in order to suppress revolts by what the authorities considered to be the troublesome elements by allowing greater troop movement through the capital.

To this day, leaders in France despise a large proportion of the population, the most recent example been the Yellow Vest Movement protests and Macron's reaction to them.
