The Alternative for Germany, a party of the populist far-right, is spouting a spurious “ethno-socialism.”

Its focus on patriotism and solidarity is a thinly-veiled bow to National Socialism.

There's nothing Right-wing about the BNP - except in the BBC sense of "baddie"

Why the BNP is Left Wing (And Fascist)

The BNP are both racist and fascist: all fascist parties have left wing tendencies as they predominantly believe in nationalisation, collectivism and forbid free expression, which makes fascism the very antipathy of right-of-centre politics

It's not what ya know, it's what ya don't know ;)

The British National Party was based on the principles of National Socialism and 3rd positionism. Just take a look at what their economic polices were. This has never been a secret.

Up until Nick Griff Tweeted about being in Father Murphy Country in Wexford a good while back, the BNP kept their IRA / Irish Nationalist Affiliations as Secret as they could, generally, the Media refer to the BNP & AFD as "Far Right".

It doesn't matter what you do the media will still spin everything they disagree with as 'Far Right'. Even when well known out and out communists (the most communist group you can get in Ireland) drill power drills into wee Lesbiens heads it's still somehow considered a 'right wing' attack.

I think Nationalism naturally tends towards Socialism or at least being Socialistic because if you are genuine Nationalist you are going to see your nation as essentially an extended family.
"Volkish Equality"???

I don't agree entirely with the thread title that the AfD is en toto left-wing. There are two competing factions, western and eastern. Neo-liberals (economically speaking, anyway) dominate the western wing, whereas syncretists led by Björn Höcke dominate the eastern wing. His economic philosophy is far more radical than that of Alice Weidel and it plays well in states that were part of the GDR, especially when you consider the fact that many AfD supporters in that patch were thrown out of work (or at least economically undercut) and have been subjected to a massive influx of foreign welfare moochers and fake refugees since reunification.

There have been clashes between the two wings before and there will be subsequent clashes. The powers-that-be just need to keep a lid on it, especially since they're under both the microscope and the gun from German domestic spooks.
