Gaeilge is a language of peasant farmers, fishermen and village dwellers. All need to serve self-interest by trying to get along with each other.

English is a language of massive cities and massive factories. Less convivial, more of a rat race. Not to mention the role of English in the Slave Trade, the exploitation of places like India and the start of Empire in 1500 by pirates attacking Spanish Galleons.
And your point is what?

I can now say that I fully understand these terms.
An fear.
Fear agus buachaill.
Bean agus cailín.
Is cailín mé.
Is bean mé.
Is buachaill mé.
An fear agus a buachaill
An buachaill agus an cailín.

Very good. That is the recommended daily goal. 8 words may not seem much but the most important thing is to fully understand and know the correct spelling of each.

Ta sé. Scriobh sé post a raibh racist, "the thug looks 100% Irish", agus léim cupla daoinaí air. Bhí hullabaloo mór idir mé agus é, agus ar aigaidh leis le flounce, ag caoineadh.
