I think you have been suckered in by the consumerist society. Christmas is not about giving gifts!!!!!

And who cares if you cause offense to non-Christians, it's not their Fing celebration is it? Oh and by the way I consider myself non religious.

Too much is spent on Christmas gifts, look at the games companies, all releasing games prior to Christmas and now they retail at about 70 euro.

Commercialism has ruined Christmas.

I buy presents for those I care about at Christmas, it has nothing to do with any religion or religious ceremonies or sky-fairies.

I disagree.
Commercialism actually makes Christmas.
If the Inn had not been full when Jesus was born then all those pictures of stables and mangers etc would never have happened.
Also the Inns being full is an encouragement to the normally slack winter pub and hotel trade.

Im delighted to see Lidl promoting Christmas card sales at the checkout last week.
