This has interested me for years. I used to admire the pope because I was baptized catholic and went to catholic school until 4th grade. I think I heard about the pope prophecy about 20 years ago.

Allow me to introduce myself again. I'm half Irish and my last name McInerney. Does anyone know a McInerney or have you heard the name? There was an author named Jay McInerney.

Back to the subject at hand. I am not a believer in the catholic teachings as the methodically kept the Bible from the common folk for centuries. The catholic church is a whore. I'm a Protestant Christian and a dispensationalist. I wish I was more astute regarding Ireland, normal life there and politics. I have trouble pronouncing all the last names over there. Oh, by the way, I'm from St. Louis MO, USA and I'm retired after selling auto parts for 31 years.

This topic may not be worthy of a thread but we can discuss it and other things as well.

Answer: St. Malachy, whose Gaelic name was Máel Máedóc, was born in Ireland in AD 1094. He became a Catholic priest and later the Archbishop of Armagh. Several miracles have been attributed to him, according to evidence investigated by the Roman Catholic Church. He was the first Irishman to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church.

Malachy was an influential reformer within Irish Catholicism, bringing its liturgical practices into closer agreement with those of Rome. For his efforts, he was appointed legate for Ireland, but during his second trip to Rome, in 1148, he became ill and died on November 2.

Malachy is known today for a set of prophecies, purportedly written by him in 1139, concerning the future line of Popes. His list started with his contemporary, Pope Celestine III and continued through the next 112 Popes. The last Pope would be called Petrus Romanus (“Peter the Roman”), whose reign would end with Judgment Day. Malachy’s vision of the future included a brief, cryptic description of each Pope.

According to Catholic tradition, Malachy’s prophecy remained hidden until AD 1590, when it was first published. It has been a source of conjecture and controversy ever since. The prophecy has recently come into focus again because of the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI. According to Malachy’s reckoning, Pope Francis I will be the last.

Well, the good news is we don't have long to see if his prophecy was true or not as the current pope is supposed to be the last pope.

Even then there are plenty who believe that Ratzinger is still the Pope and this guy is a false prophet.

Let me get this straight: You're an apostate, you believe the Church is a whore and you reject Her teachings and Truth, yet you're interested in an apocryphal prophecy from one of Her saints? Talk about counter-intuitive.

I am not a believer in the catholic teachings as the methodically kept the Bible from the common folk for centuries.
When it comes to straw men, Dude, you build wicker men. Explain how She did this. Because noone was literate in Latin? I'll give you a hint. When Luther translated the Bible into a Saxon dialect of German, the common folk (in Saxony and beyond) couldn't read that either because illiteracy was ubiquitous. Most educated (i.e. merchants and aristocrats) "Germans" couldn't read his translation either, because Middle High German was the literary language. Middle High German and Saxon were mutually unintelligible at that time.

I wish I was more astute regarding Ireland, normal life there and politics.
I wish you were more astute when it came to bashing the bead rattlers. Your attacks have been pretty ham-fisted, why don't you learn from the best of the bigots?

The Jesuits and the catholic church kept the Bible in churches only, no Bibles for the people. Confessing to a priest and calling him father are both contrary to scripture. Hiding and protecting molesters, and I rarely if ever hear the pope or the clergy mention the gospel of our salvation. Promoting alien visitation and gay marriage. The catholic church wants folks feeling guilty and shameful for all the evil they create, always a sinner in need of "confession". Last time I checked we have a mediator in Christ Jesus and we can ask forgiveness and pray directly to God, not a priest. Call no man your father but your Father in heaven. Is there a difference between Roman or Irish Catholic?

Matthew 23:9-11 KJV -
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

Jorge Bergoglio was never a Pope and is now no longer within the church as I excommunicated the globalist scum in the name of Christ.

Children calling their Father's Father?

Mathew 16:19 Christ says to Peter:
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

The church and the clergy set up a community to come to God through Christ, it is done in a way that human beings in their imperfection could find relateable and not clinical when coming to terms with an omniscient creator and when shame would work on the inner self-belief of a human making them feel they are not worthy in the sight of God and thus not able to approach Him. Hence the whole workings of the church is about coming together as a community through Christ to God in this relatable way and through expression and culture that is human while in full acknowledgment of God in everything we are and do and having ultimately come from God and with the aim of ultimately going back home to God.

Peter preached the kingdom gospel until he met with Paul after 17 yrs. Paul is the Apostle to the Gentiles. Jesus Christ was not sent but the lost sheep of Israel and He taught the Old Testament kingdom gospel. There a new gospel of grace given first to Paul, Scripture says so and I can show you.

The catholic church is not Christ's, but the Body of Christ IS, His body is the church. I have nothing against catholics only their hierarchy and idol worship, pro-baby killing, pro-gay marriage, confessionals, history of paying for your transgressions, purgatory, baptizing babies and the list goes on. They think THEY are the THE church of Christianity and they're not. Look into the pope's past. I enjoy a catholic mass but they don't preach the gospel of salvation that Paul preached first. It's in my signature.. I'll tell you more about it later with scripture. The catholic church does worship God and bring people to Christ. Their "clergy system" is a joke. Jesuits facilitate the NWO.

This thread was started because I find Malichy' prophecies of the popes interesting. Do you believe them?

Galatians 1
Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:

3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;

22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:

23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

24 And they glorified God in me.

Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.

GALATIANS 2t up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:

4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

6 But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

10 Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.

11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Paul's epistle was believed by some to be the first book written in the New Testament, before the gospels and before Peter and James or Jude. Thought to have been written by Paul in 49 AD.

Ephesians 3
1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Romans 11:13 KJV - For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

Matthew 15:24 KJV - But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Tell me, is your faith in the Christ and after the life, times and example of Christ and believing in Him or is your faith called Paulianity?

I have quoted Christ's words and His direction, you however have not said one word from Christ our Lord. So as far as your accusation of worshipping idols, the fruits so far, of your own direction and argument are coming from a man, not the Lord, this is indicative and holding a man as idol, no different to inanimate idol worship.
And no Roman Catholic's do not worship idols, we talk (which is what prayer is) to the Saints and all those departed to help us, support us in our prayers,blessings and to intercede to Christ our Lord on our behalf. This is perfectly normal and human to keep up a relationship with all those whom you know alive and in the spirit realm, but in no way do we place any being above God or Christ, this is just false. Everything that is asked must be done in the Name of Christ Jesus.
The bible unlike the koran is descriptive not prescriptive and the keys of heaven were given by mouth from Christ directly to Peter, not Paul.

Wrong again. What Paul says is straight from Christ by revelation. Remember how God chose Paul on the Road to Damascus? Paul received ongoing revelation from Christ until he was martyred. Paul makes it very clear that he preaches Christ and Him crucified. Paul says he the least of all the apostles and saints. I worship Jesus Christ who is God and that's all Paul ever preached. Expand your readings beyond Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. What got me back in the word was reading Paul's epistles from Romans through Philemon and also the book of Acts. After I studied that for 5 years and all of the NT I was ready to absorb the OT. Some people refer to the doctrine as Pauline. I'm a Mid-Acts Dispensation believer. And yes, as all Christians should, I follow Christ and I love His words as I've studied the gospels as well. Why do catholics pray to Mary and saints when they can pray directly to God through Jesus Christ?
