Under the terms of Ireland's abortion law it's highly likely that a baby can be killed up until the cutting of the umbilical cord - "complete emergence", which can be after normal breathing has begun.

“foetus”, in relation to a pregnancy, means an embryo or a foetus during the period of time commencing after implantation in the uterus of a woman and ending on the complete emergence of the foetus from the body of the woman;

“termination of pregnancy”, in relation to a pregnant woman, means a medical procedure which is intended to end the life of a foetus;

The consciences of many true professionals won't be easily beaten into submission.
These men and women of integrity won't be making the "journey" to Hell that so many politicians have embarked on.

Wouldn't that depend on whether the umbilical cord is defined to be part of the woman or part of the foetus?

Whatever about that nicety, the law on abortion in this country is macabre.

It's ambiguous, for now. Why put such ambiguity into legislation?

What is not ambiguous is that a child can be legally killed up to the moment that every last finger and toe has emerged.

It's partial-birth abortion taken to the nth degree.
