I wouldn't be sure, of course, but I'm very suspicious of the whole thing and I'm inclined to think it was staged based on the timing; The US listing NK as a sponsor of terror and ramping up the propaganda, and the supposed defector being immune to high-velocity munitions.
Evidently he wasn't as immune as you say and he collapsed and had to be taken to hospital.

He was supposedly hit at least five times, so why talk of single shots?
A shot to the head or the heart or some other area that would be immediately fatal and would have killed him. He was apparently not shot in the head or the heart or spine.

You don't get to define what it's about for me. I do that, and I'm saying it's my opinion that he could not have ran like he did after being shot five times.
Your opinion isn't based on any knowledge or facts. There are historical accounts of people continuing moving after being shot multiple times.

If you want it to be simply about facts then fine; bring concrete proof of them and we'll take it from there.
As far as is known, the defector was shot multiple times, survived and was taken to hospital where he was operated on for these injuries.

Good propaganda is always based on some element of truth. Some of the footage is probably genuine, but the bit about this guy crossing the border is tagged on. Totally fake and unbelievable. Particularly when the real buildings don't match the supposed location of the alleged incident.

That's where they say they found 3 foot long worms in his stomach from eating human faeces

Do you realise what you're saying? You claim is that this supposed defector ran about 15 to 20 meters, with two men firing on him from less than five meters behind him. Does it not strike you as strange that the video does not include this miraculous event - but stops after the first burst of gunfire?

The real buildings do match the location if you care to look at google Earth and watch the video at the same time, you dummy !

News channels generally don't run footage of people being shot.

Allegedly yes, but after running 20-30 metres after allegedly being shot five times. As I keep saying; I have trouble accepting someone could do this. If he staggered a bit, or even broke his stride, but if you look at the vid he literally sprints away.

A shot to the head or the heart or some other area that would be immediately fatal and would have killed him. He was apparently not shot in the head or the heart or spine.
Please see above.

Why do you keep saying this when I'm agreeing with you?

There are historical accounts of people continuing moving after being shot multiple times.
Are there any of people sprinting like the chap in the vid did after taking at least five gunshots?

I'd like to see/read them.

As far as is known, the defector was shot multiple times, survived and was taken to hospital where he was operated on for these injuries.
As far as we're being told, you mean.

It may be true.

Then we have to consider the camera angle from which the footage of the alleged defector abandoning the jeep was taken. It could only have been taken from the North Korean buidings, as it is from 90 degrees to the road. Are we to believe that the North Koreans handed over this footage?

Tadgh you really should take up the challenge laid down by Mr Rehn. He's making a compelling case with visual evidence to back it up.

Nope- it was taken from the South. Ever noticed how curved the border is at that point ? You can see the front of the buildings and the road in NK if you move to the east !

I'm just looking at some views of the scene, and I must say they don't at all look like the view in that supposed video. Look at this, taken from the American side.

We are being told that he abandoned the jeep on the road in front of that blue building to the extreme left, and ran accross that small grass area, around that silver building with is North Korean - with two men firing on his all the while. But that gress area seems to be sloping down, and has hardly any trees - whereas the picture presented to us is clearly a wooded area. We see that the door of the North Korean building faces right out to where we are told the defector fell and was left lying there until nightfall. Well, why have a large door there if KPA soldiers can't walk out of it? And if they can walk out of it, they certainly wouldn't leave a defector lying in front of it.

You are wrong again. The area your man escaped is to the RIGHT of the picture. You see all those trees there, dummy ?
Don't you see that you are flogging a dead horse ?

Really? This is from the New York Times - notice that he shows quite a lot of reaction when he is shot - unlike our miraculous defector....

You really look ridiculous. A cop here uses a 40 caliber glock firing a hollow point round, designed to stop a horse. A rifle bullet is designed to hit a target. If it takes the target an hour to die, it does not matter. You are beyond clueless in this natter
