Peadar Toibin reveals his new political party will be named Aontú

FORMER Sinn Féin TD Peadar Tóibín has named his new political party ‘Aontú’.

The Meath politician has been travelling the country since his acrimonious departure from Sinn Féin to drum up support for a new all-island party.

He confirmed the name, which means unity and consent, at an event in Belfast.

Aontú is expected to contest local elections both sides of the border in May.

Sheepdog Toibin rounds up dissenters from the status quo and guides them safely back into the Same Fein fold

The Potato man is one of the preeminent minds on this Forum and we are lucky to have people of such calibre contributing here. But with those qualities come responsibilities and I'm afraid his meagre effort below just isn't good enough.

The names of the traitors that voted to restore birthright citizenship

The guy has to nail his colours to the mast, honestly and directly.

Well, I never thought I would see a dumber name than Renua, but for the 3rd time in about 15 years, I was wrong.

If he runs a candidate in my constituency I will give them the No 1.

I have respect for him because he fought as hard as he could against abortion.
