Yes, there are two grammers of Old Irish in existence - both written by Germans. The Germans also set up the first Irish language radio station during WW2.
It's striking that none of the great philologists of the Irish language, be they English, Irish or German, have been recognised in street names, monuments etc.
Instead, we continue memorializing eighteenth century English layabouts. Why don't we dump d'Olier, for example, and call it Robin Flower Street?
