All in all, it was a disappointing start for Aontú. It was surprising that Francie Brolly only got 300 first preferences. But Aontú has no party funds. Every Aontú candidate is buying their own posters and recruiting their own teams to canvas and put up posters. Then Aontú is up against the inertia of the Irish public. But, as far as the six counties go, the sectarian headcount will always trump any other issue - and nobody plays the sectarian card better than Shame Féin. It's their bread and butter - and jam too. That said, the only way to overcome public inertia is to to stay in the game. We see how Gary Donnelly topped the poll in Creggan - despite incredible media and Régime demonization after the McKee killing. He's been ploughing that field for years, not taking no for an answer.

In the south, Peadar's softness on immigration is bound to hurt the party - I've been canvassing and postering for them and this is coming up on the doorsteps. Even with Peadar's immigration loving attitude, I note that pretty much no migrants are helping the party - they're all postering and canvassing for their own racial candidates. It was funny out around Ongar on Saturday, where there are about five Indian candidates, seeing all the Indians going about with their ladders putting up posters for their own Indian candidates - not much racial integration going on there.
I don't think there's any room for an anti-abortion sf, if Peader had come out strongly on immigration he might have eaten a chunk out of the others but that boat has probably sailed.

Please don't help them then.

Well the Shit Fein heartland of Derry got two pro life mild Irish Nationalists over the line with the independent Carr getting in as well. The North is all about soccer team tribal voting anyway where you stick with the one party for life or else the jaffas might get in. It's the South where the Soros boys will be hit hardest.

Shit Féin has lost control of Derry council it seems. It's a small consolation for Aontú that it was part of that.
