With the success of Ryanair and other airlines, travel has become a lot easier. Countries across Europe and the world are becoming more multicultural. Often people are displaced because of war or barbaric cultural practices. Many of these are traumatised children. These people shouldn't suffer abuse or racist comments just because of their skin colour or accent. The fact that the migration issue isn't been tackled properly particularly the lack of vetting of criminals who are entering the country as highlighted by the prison statistics and the Lisbon Treaty is worrying. The immigration policy in Australia is that you need a qualification that Australia needs before getting a working visa. You can only enter if your under the age of 35 and only given a holiday visa. In the interview process the law states that a qualified Aussie has to be given preference for a job. Then if you get a job the company sponsers you and while you work in that job you can remain in the country. Applying for citizenship costs up to 10 k and you need to prove you have a skill the country needs. Students can also get visas to stay in the country during their studies. Similar proposals are being discussed for post Brexit Britain. Foreign students shouldn't be targeted for attack on the streets. The government needs to introduce similar measures to Australia here whilst also taking a quota of genuine asylum seekers that they can accommodate and enter into the workforce. Most foreign graduates/ students are forced to learn English as it is the language of computing and you need it to work in most companies. As the chief liturgist of the Vatican a native of Africa said when talking about people forced to leave their own country " All migrants who arrive in Europe are penniless, without work, without dignity... This is what the church wants? The church cannot cooperate with this new form of slavery that has become mass migration. It is better to help people flourish in their own culture" Under no circumstances should vulnerable people especially children be targeted for racist abuse as they have been forced often due to war, corruption and economic problems to leave their countries. Those in positions of authority often on salaries of over 100 k per month who are not implementing sustainable policies needs to be called to account.
