It'll be worth a lot to the people who live on it.
The real estate of the future New York with all the tax payers and tourists gone meaning zero money available to maintain services or facilities or law and order will be worth about just about as much as that abandoned real estate in Detroit is worth to anyone.

I could post pictures like that of Dublin. There are many abandoned and ruined buildings even in the center of Dublin. It doesn't mean that nobody wants to use them. The trouble with private property is that owners can hang on to it - even if they can't or won't do anything with it.

The socialists who are left running Detroit are predictably unable to do anything with whats left other than presiding over an impoverished indebted crime ridden hellhole blaming everyone for the chaos other than themselves and their failed ideology.
You obviously haven't been reading the news lately. It's Capitalism that's the failed ideology. The Central Banks aren't nationalizing the economies of the developed countries because Capitalism is succeeding.

Detroit is a dead city. No one wants to live there no business is setting up there no one wants that land.

Looks better than London.

Cant blame them trying to sell the place with a slick promotional video but the proof of the pudding is in the fact that the population remains in the fact that the population of the city stands at around a third of its peak, the people voted with their feet, at least the economically active ones.

Its the standard Socialist type of place, a combination of high taxes combined with low levels of public services that guarantees that capital is not attracted.

Get a business friendly administration in, lower the tax rate and Detroit will boom, jobs will abound and the tax take will increase meaning better public services for all.

That's hardly surprising, given that the US Régime allowed US industry to move to China.

Lowering taxes has never brought economic prosperity. All it has ever done is run up the national debt. British public debt doubled during Thatcher's reign - and that was a time Britain had the windfall of North Sea oil. Without that, Thatcher might have doubled the national debt again. If you look at the USA, the time of maximum prosperity was the 1950s and 60s, when the top tax rate was 90%.

If low taxes was the formula for success, Somalia would be one of the richest countries in the world.

If you had a situation where the population of NY had adequate housing, there would be a very beg fall in the level of violence. That's an obvious fact that the 1% want to deny.
You are making stuff up, trying to equate things that do not follow regards any discussion here or in reality. Slums in many regions of the world have vastly lower levels of violence then we are seeing of late in New York, this is ridiculous.

The 1% ?, they will never be effected in any meaningful way by any of this, they have the most options, and can make out like bandits in many ways, no different to the vulture funds etc...

It is the average person that is fleeing the chaos that will get fucked over, like in the past and now the future due to fools being led by a system that can easily absorb and even direct them to there advantage from the chaos created.

You're still trying to ignore the elephant in the room, i.e. that when people are homeless and impoverished and excluded from society, they will eventually start to fight back. That's what's happening now in New York. It's not a very well thought out or well planned resistance - but resistance it is.

Its the homeless that are fighting back ? are you having a laugh here. Do you have any idea of the number of vacant houses that could be filled in Detroit right now as example after the clowns set their own city on fire on repeat ?

It wasn't the homeless then doing so and its not the homeless doing so now, they have more important things to do like feed themselves and find a temporary roof over their heads. Burning down things is opposite to that, just makes more homeless people not less. Why are they not making Detroit into a city for all as example instead of trying to wreck the next city on the list. Fuck New York, specifically areas like Manhattan, but this is a losing way to play the game at best, and the less well areas will come out the worst.

Either way, the system has some neat tricks built in, and if you cannot understand this then you will forever be smacking your skull against a wall until your skull cracks and the wall was irrelevant anyway.
