But Mongolia wasn't part of the Soviet Union. And I would romanticise this fellow too much. He was really just a common thief with a very large army. A very brutal thief too.

If they crossed a land bridge, a frozen tundra into North America becoming Native Americans? Why did they leave their horses behind?

True enough. Presumably they had horses long before Genghis Khan and were skilled at using them. The question still stands.

It looks like the horse was first domesticated on the Eurasian steppe about 3,500 years ago. That's long after the migrations in North America. Those migrations seem to have been on foot.

Well a chara, no doubt the Mongolians did help, but I think that article is confusing Siberians with Mongolians. The Eastern Siberians would look very like the Mongolians.
