I see art appreciation is not your forte .though I think he was obviously way more than an artist
I have an extraordinary high level of art appreciation and see through the low quality of leonardos effeminate leering art.
He was undoubtadly a skilled draughtsman but the application of that skill lacked real artistic vision and originality.

The work is characterized by repetetive motifs in the style of that other effeminate chancer Raphael.
You seem to think that because this trash is admired by the masses that it constitutes art.

The masses are ignorant sheep and admire what the media instruct them to admire.
When it comes to effeminate homosexual crap Leonardo and Raphael lead the posse.

A wonderful artist and an atheist to boot!
You are clearly unable to distinguish between skilled draughtsmanship and real art.
Like the Leonardo you admire you have no soul or if you do have it is polluted with fake news.

The man was an excellent artist and centuries ahead of his time in some areas.
It's just my opinion but his work looks all the same (everyone is fecking cherubic looking) and the detail level is unimpressive and nearly everything unfinished. His reputation is vastly overstated.

People have a tendency to reduce. And when they turn to late medieval art they reduce it also, to this guy. He is a great celebrity and an icon but better paintings, sculptures etc were being produced around him.

Oswald Spengler said that Leonardo was the first modern artist. His themes are the themes of the modern mind. I'd say that's true.

Which artists do you admire FM.
A better question would be 'which works of art do you admire'. You cause a problem when you worship people instead of works and it's the same in any art field and the Leonardo cult is definitive of the problem.

An example of this problem's consequences is that painting called Salvator Mundi which recently sold for 450 million and why? why? Because it was made by Leonardo (even there there was a scam because the redone job bears little resemblance to the original) that's why.

Da Vinci was almost certainly an ADHD personality.

But luckily for him, he was born in an era with far less specialisation and division of labour than there is today.
Back then it was possible to be a Jack of all trades and master of at least a few.

Come on now, Da Vinci was an excellent draughtsman. Are you letting your personal opinion of the man cloud your judgement?

I fully agree.
Excellent highly skilled draughtsman.
But high grade artist producing great art?
Not in my expert opinion.

Since Leonardo died a bit before I was born he never met me so I can not present a view on his personality.
The rumours that he was a homosexual have never gone away.
The smirky awkward effeminacy in nearly all his artwork is a gigantic defect.
