This thread is specifically to list Jim O'Callaghan (FF) input into political discourse.
Hi is Fianna Fail Spokesperson on Justice and Equality
Jim O'Callaghan is brother of RTE Miriam O'Callaghan.
Hi seems to be the Mass Immigration spokesman for Fianna Fail.
He recently came up with the spectacularly stupid idea of Irish citizens fostering illegal, unvetted migrants.
Please feel free to post up all you know about this Fianna Fail Politician.

Thanks to Florence for this report

RTE (Morning Ireland) excelled itself this morning reporting the Achill situation.

Before 8am it had a long interview with a James McNamara who is part of a welcome group set up (I think) last Tuesday. He was asked if outside groups had come in to influence the local people and he believed they had. Asked if he could identify them in the group with placards outside the hotel he had to admit he couldn't as the people were holding the placards in front of their faces, and were wearing winter clothes making it hard to see them clearly. Despite his name, James did not have an Irish accent, more a middle of the road British accent IMO - open to correction on this.

After the 8am news and whats in the papers, a clip of the McNamara interview was played omitting the part where he said he could not idently outsiders in the group outside the hotel. Then Jim O'Callaghan TD was on. He said he was in Achill last weekend and that certain outside forces were trying to piggyback local concerns. He did not offer any evidence for this. He said that while the nos seeking asylum had grown, they were still quite small and manageable; and that our housing crisis adds to the problem as asylum seekers can't move on from direct provision. He added that the asylum seeker issue will be a long term problem due to our 'successful economy' meaning people will want to come here.

He said Ireland is the most geographically remote place given where the asylum seekers come from but they pick us as we are successful. Isn't he really saying that they are economic migrants. Why would someone genuinely fleeing in fear of their life try to get to the most remote location?

RTE said no government spokesman was available.

Did they try to get someone to put an alternative view? No prizes for getting the answer!.

he stated the immigrants come here because we are rich and economically successful so without stating the obvious they are economic migrants, They want replacement due to low birth rate but replacement with unskilled workers ( sub saharahans ) can t replace educated skilled workers its a pipe dream.
We will be a society of elders in the future with no tax payers as the migrants will all still be on benefits so its all wrong. Better to import eastern europeans who have an amazing work ethic not 3rd world layabouts. Men never work in Africa the women do all the work, the men enrich tjhemselves with drugs and crime and breeding.

Eastern Europeans have no different a Work Ethic than anyone else.

Have you Monitored them with an Ethno-Work Output Machine?

Before the CSO changed the Data Recordings there were 44,000 Poles on the Dole, a Judge in Mayo even remarked about it.

FFail are not pro-united Ireland.
FFail are partitionists, a united Ireland would spell the end of FFail as a political force.
