Ireland is owned by anyone with the money to buy our venial and corrupt politicians.

Your statement should be turned into banners and displayed everywhere. It should be chisselled onto the homes of politicians of all parties and their vast property portfolios. It should be turned into memes and children should be taught writing by transcribing it.

You remind me of these monsters who tried Prohition in the USA.

if our level of booze consumption was equivalent to that of Italy, i would be happy. Currently we are closer to Russia....a nation of drunks.

who averages better longevity and photogenic looks ? the italians or the russians ? drunks are ugly. Both on the inside and the outside.

Where are you living?
My neighborhood and city is generally well behaved.
Indeed the sight of a publicly inebriated individual relative to the imbibing cohort is very very rare.

You must hate the Irish.
I often notice this mad generalized hatred of drinkers from tyrants like you pushing covertly for restrictions if not abolition.

now that everybody is buying their booze at the supermarket, what progress is being made on 'minimum pricing for alcohol' ?

and so some new Alcohol legislation has kicked in. Looks totally impotent and toothless to me. And unfit for purpose. Like an old drunken wino running up and down the pitch in the 'Guinness 6 Nations Rugby'. And anyway, what does Unionist protestant beer have to do with elite sports ?

Ireland, the heaviest drinkers in the World !

Stupid rules from the Nanny State. This minimum pricing thing is having a go at those without much disposable income. The middle/upper-middleclass can still get as pissed as they like on their fancy liqueurs and vinos.
