Sinn Fein had a terrible election, the Green increases could be nothing more than a protest vote, either way, 49 councilors is hardly a strong political movement for change.

The Green thing has been overstated in the centre ground media, the shinners got none of this coverage despite doing far better than the Greens five years ago. Although 12-49 is a good increase.

It's not BUT Varadkers faulty spin machine has spewed out that the population wants climate change malarkey.
Like in UK, The Brexit Party blitzed the establishment who are spinning that the majority of parties are remain. Normality will never resume while we have the everyone's a winner crowd around.

The Greens got a bounce from the young vote, those who are probably students and don’t pay taxes yet and who
the cost involved involved to implement these changes won’t really affect them for around five years.

Pure bubble

Sf lost half their council seats and probably 2 MEP's ...why is mary lou not resigning ?
Good point, overall its a disaster election for Sinn Fein, the icing on the cake was Bolan losing her MEP seat. How the media are letting SF off the hook on this is bizzare to say the least.

Because if the media cover SF's losses, it will also have to conver FG's losses to the Greens.

The Greens had a small bump, hardly worth the media coverage they received. SF, on the other hand, have lost more votes under Mary Lou and their new direction than they had with Gerry Adams.

What's the breakdown on the independents though? How many of those elected are patriots/pro-life/right-thinking?
