Apparently, Tesla shares fell through the roof after this.

Guess the shareholders didn't like the weed smoking.

Glorified technician thinks his stemtardation is relevant.

A 'glorified technician' billionaire who is the founder, CEO, and lead designer of SpaceX, co-founder, CEO, and product architect of Tesla, co-founder and CEO of Neuralink; and co-founder of PayPal.
He also founded The Boring Company.

Any other 'glorified technician' you see out there ?
Because I'd love to buy their stock.

But he can not compose a sonnet. I think you need to get your priorities in order.

Musk's gig now is to game the system to get tax payer subsidies of billions to promote his vanity projects.
LA Times - Elon Musk's growing empire is fueled by government subsidi…

Musk is a clown at best, a glorified champagne socialist off the back of one tax payer or the next, this country is full of them.
His rise of late is fueled by the stock market bubble, he will be regarded as a conman in the future if people have any sense.

The reality is the markets/countries are waking up and instead promoting european car manufacturers, let alone that he cant even make a proper car in the first place.

So, Elon Musk is getting a bit of flack these days. Space X won the moon lander contract with NASA but it got suspended due to legal challenges by its competitors. This won't stop progress on the system since Starship is the core technology and that remains in full development. It just can't be put under the moon program rubric yet.

Starship 15 is due for a test flight this week, and it's a model with significant design improvements, so there's an expectation of a very-close-to successful landing on this one. One can only wish the program the best. Let's hope that there's a New Glenn rolling out on the pad soon.

Anyway, Russel Brand. Russel is extraordinarily eloquent and worth watching just for that (and the the evidence he provides of the excellent effect a diet primarily based on lentils has on one's health). He has a go at Musk, but for quite a different reason - the digitalisation of the self.

Now, my understanding of Musk's efforts in this field is his prediction of how AI will develop over the next decade or so. Essentially this view thinks that it will so outpace us that humans will become insects in comparison. In order to stay relevant we will have to create an internal interface with it. Also, there are a number of other AI programs currently underway that are the territory of private entities and authoritarian state actors that could be leveraged for coercive and manipulative purposes - so a race against time.

Musk wants to develop an open source alternative that will give the greater public access to methods to counteract and shape AI's integration into contemporary life. To essentially democratise it and provide the means for the protection of liberty. That, at least, was the reasoning a number of years ago. Elon makes a strange remark that points at a change of thinking that's worrying and worth keeping an eye on.

Musk did talk a lot about us being in an AI environment already a few years back. Perhaps he should consider that Brand's understanding is closer to the truth than a merely materialistic one - that materialistic one (the data value system) kicking up a version similar to his conjectures at its interpretative limit. There are stranger things, Elon.

In any case, Brand makes a good argument for the continuing relevance of the human condition in his inimitably clever and articulate way.

I wonder how long he will be able to hold on to control of his companies? Bezos lost his earlier this year.

There is no denying his brilliance, guts and his business skills. Some Wall Street speculators shorted his company a few years ago and got burned badly.

That video is great! Hilarious at times when they talk about chimps. The way they slide from topic to topic helped by the weed.
