If you vaped would you continue during this CoVid19 outbreak?
I understand smoking as a threat generally... but vaping particularly?
Angiotensin-converting enzyme-2 (ACE2) is how the viruses enter the cells.
Normally ACE2 acts as a regulator for heart function.
The COVID-19virus uses ACE2 enzyme to invade the cell.
For whatever reason, ACE2 receptors tend to be more numerous
on the surface of the cells of smokers and vapers.
So it seems that you are
slightly increasing the probability of virus taking hold in the cells in your lungs
if you are a smoker or vaper.
But given how highly infectious this virus is, if you have it in your lungs, you've likely been
exposed to aerosol droplets (an infected sneeze etc) and you'd probably get it anyway
making this inquiry rather academic.
Just focus your efforts more on washing your hands
and keeping well away from people who may have contracted the virus
rather than worrying about less important minor issues.
It goes without saying that all people still smoking or vaping should stop
as they are unnecessarily increasing the risk of various health problems
and increasing the possibility of complications if they do contract COVID-19
quite apart from slightly increasing the risk of contracting COVID-19 if exposed to it
