Someone pointed out to me this morning, correctly, that my interest in poetry seems to die after 1963. So to remedy this I wonder can anyone recommend any contemporary poets worth reading?

There’s one man that can write pomes that you can read all day and all night and keep reading them to your heart’s content, stuff
you’d never tire of. Pomes written by a man that is one of ourselves and written down for ourselves to read. The
name of that man .... Micheal D. Higgins himself ...

Sadly, I can't think of one contemporary poet that I would regard as particularly worth reading - even in the Irish language. Probably, the last great Gaelic poet was Somhairle MacGill-Eain, who died in 1996.

The last contemporary poets I read were Mister Scully of Aosdana, some Spanish broad, some Balkan broad, and various poetasters from the "poetry" monthly, and they all sucked.
