Fair play more business owners should take a stand.

Restauranteur and TV presenter Paul Treyvaud has vowed to reopen his Kilarney restaurant in July ‘no matter what’ after a damaging year.

The celebrity chef, known for Treyvaud’s Kitchen and Treyvaud’s Travels, took to Twitter on Monday to announce his plans, offering the Government four months ‘to sort out everything’.

‘I have decided I am opening my restaurant July 1 no matter what. That gives them 4 months to sort out everything. I’ve done everything I’ve been told to do’, wrote the presenter on Twitter.

’55k came in from UK with that variant, now over 1500 from Brazil. The problem is no longer us. It’s an incompetent Gov’.

Paul continued that after setting a reopening date for himself, he has been able to put his own mind at ease, adding: ‘I am prepared to be arrested if need be. I no longer care.’

He continued: ‘I’m not a conspiracy nut job so don’t bother telling me to open up now. I’ve done the maths and if I’m not open by then, everything is gone. I’ve no intention of losing everything I’ve worked my life for because these idiots can’t close airports, ports, or agree on borders.’

‘I’m so angry, annoyed and have lost all hope with the people running the show. So that’s it. I’m opening my restaurant for indoor dining 1/7/21.’

Paul concluded that while he would not tell other businesses in his position to do the same, ‘all I’ll say is that there is strength in numbers.’

‘If this doesn’t force a government to sort this sh*t out once & for all, I give up. I’d rather fight my own battles than take another cent of state aid.’

What a clown, by 1st July his business will have been closed for 6 months in 2021, on top of the closures in 2020. I don't even know how the restaurants can survive that long - under normal circumstances when they're busy they would be telling us they are barely breaking even, they need VAT reductions etc. Bunch of bullshitters, fuck the lot of them, wimps.

The Restaurants Association of Ireland should be leading all their members to reopen immediately - if they all stood together they could fight back. Then again the dumb normie plebs are so brainwashed by RTE fear porn they'd be too afraid to mingle with other people in restaurants. He'll be allowed to reopen during summer (with ridiculous restrictions) but it will be back to lockdown by September.

That's the thing that really gets me, in the 2010s you had pubs and restaurants giving out stink saying a few cents extra excise duty on booze would ruin them, the same tune from the airlines over a 3 quid extra tax on plane tickets, Shutdown their industry's altogether indefinitely? Crickets 🙅

Have you ever heard the Restaurants Association of Ireland Head on the Radio? Adrian Cummins.. former FF hack.

Not the most impressive character to say the least. He seems like the type that would be happy with a brown envelope.

Major hush money being paid out. Which remaining taxpayers will have to pay back in coming years, when Mehole has ridden off into the sunset.

Is the hush money in some constituencies more than the pub would take in from customers in normal trading?

I've seen a few ( unverified ) accounts on Twitter of large sums being paid to businesses forced to close.

I've no way of knowing if they are accurate, but you tend to think the silence of the VFI and those orgs speaks volumes.

It seems like they are being kept quiet with our money.

Wow. What a revolutionary.

He'll open up the month or two, the month or two that regime will allow the restaurants to open. That'll show 'duh government.

This guy is like the "Che Guevara" of celebrity restauranteur persons. A complete hell raiser.
