I was figdeting around Jim Saleam's site looking for his comments highly negative comments on Savitri Devi and Neo-Nazis when I copped this was on there today. It is a classic and well worth reading;

Caution Zionism! Essays on the Ideology, Organisation and Practice of Zionism.

I dont agree with how far Jim Saleam takes his ethno-nationalism but he maintainss nuance most of the time and has a lot of worth to say. I make no apologies for saying that. I would prefer him to Trots.

A lot of stuff in Russian sadly never makes it into English.

The Soviet bureaucracy wasn't monolithic - some saw Zionism as a good thing, if even just to get rid of the Jews, and some didn't.
There was actually tension between Jewish Communists and gentile Communists in some countries. It was particularly acute in Poland. The Jewish Communists were "purged" in Poland in 1968. Some went to Israel, others to Sweden.

It had bugger all to do with such a "tension".

Here is an extract from an open letter published by Bertrand Russell at the end of 1968 which cuts to the chase:

"... Over the past eighteen months in Poland, the Press, the secret police and the Government have instigated anti-Semitism quite deliberately. By some twisted logic, all Jews are now Zionists, Zionists are fascists, fascists are Nazis, and Jews, therefore, are to be identified with the very criminals who only recently sought to eliminate Polish Jewry..."

The instigation he refers to is coming from precisely the type of book referred to in the OP. (Often said to be the 'bible' of the Soviet anti-Zionists/antisemites. Selling Anti-Semitism in Moscow - Its basic thesis being based on the Protocols, alleging that world Jewry possessed ubiquitous control of world politics, and presenting the "evil image of Zionism" etc.)

What I find amazing though is that these currents of hate they so deliberately instigated still finds so many enthusiastic souls in our own age, so terribly anxious to embrace the kind of hateful reality inversion represented. - Just think that the precise propaganda idea, the "twisted logic" that Russell was so appalled at, is still so in vogue today with so many of the members on this site.

So, you're agreeing with parenthesis, there was tension between Jewish and Gentile Communists.

The same can be said about the so called Hungarian Uprising in 1956. Even the Jews themselves admit that.

The main reason that some many non-Orthodox Jews opposed Zionism was because having a Jewish State would obviously to sane people raise the question of loyalty of Polish, English, whatever Jews to Poland,England, wherever. A lot of Jews but by no means a majority after Zionazi invasion of Gaza and the West Bank in the Soviet Union and the People Democracies demonstrated disloyalty to the cause of peace and socialism and so unlike Jews who have shown hysterical levels of disloyalty to Britain in recent times they suffered consequences. Trying to equate that to the type of anti-Semitism you find today among neo-Nazis is risible.
