So I support Catalonian independence but the question that refuses to be ignored -- what ever did Spain do to offend George Soros?

Is this open boarders/flood europe/balkanisation, one last big win attempt by him before he dies. A big pump and dump against the euro like he did with the English pound and the Thai baht. Some global financial reset/chaos with all his billionaire buddies, with the cleanup after being be a major fire sale across europe. Im probably drunk.

If Longford was 51% Muslim in 40 years, would Ireland put up with them having a vote to become the Islamic state of Longford?
If the peoples republic of cork wanted out, would we all be ok with that as well.

Ranked lists of Spanish autonomous communities - Wikipedia per capita, catalonia comes in fourth,
Basque, Navere, Madrid all come ahead of them, but ye population is an issue. Basques had been fighting for a long time, I assume this isn't going to start a resurgence there ?

It’s a country that doesn’t ask anyone to get rid of its own identity.” Instead, it encourages them “to be part of a diverse and shared society” — Oriol Amorós, Catalan secretary for equality, migration and citizenship
just another example of how multiculturalism poison being spread within a nation with the intent of collapsing the ability of that nation to resist EU federalism.
The new Catalans
the same way we see so many foreigners marching for the baby-killing choice in Dublin yesterday.. get the Irish to kill their young/ partition Spain to lame duck it.
Thats disheartening reading through. Spain might be better off taking the hit, that place is infested. Dump all their undesirables on them and start building walls.

How many other balkanisation projects are being pushed in europe.

Enough of this "fascist" nonsense. My Facebook page is coming down with this bollix analogy.
The Socialist Party of Spain (the main opposition) also oppose Catalan secession, as do the Socialist Party of Catalonia.
Ahead of planned Catalan poll, main opposition Socialist Party sides with government

Kershaw is right. Most of these Catalan "nationalists", (I know scores of them) are Open Borders freaks who despise the Spanish living in Catalonia (and indeed the English, German and Irish who visit or retire there) but love the African and Arab hordes who will soon make Catalans a minority in their own country.

At present they have their own Parliament, their own police force, their language is the main language taught in school, their culture is protected (whilst Spanish culture is daily attacked).
Even better, I hope they are soon independent and let them take as many refugees as they like. Hopefully it will inspire California and other states here to do likewise.

It basically is every man for himself in a sense, that is small regional units.

It is all foretold in that great book.
The Sovereign Individual.

It correctly laid out the forces to render Europe apart. The push for states to merge into the Superstates before they themselves are torn into seceding new states.

A lot of parasites must adhere to a new larger host before the present host expires, knowing they will not be able to attach to the new smaller hoats that will not have the same feeding capacity.

It is great to watch.

of course, the Spanish should tomorrow, direct all the Moroccans and North Africans in Spain etc across the border with Catalonia. The progressives regionalists will welcome them of course, and then construct a border fence around them. Sack immeadiately all civil servants who work for the central government in that region. Remove all representative from that region from the national government. An immediate cessation of any National government spending in Catalonia. And hand them a bill for the Catalonia share of the Spanish national debt. And let the EU deal with their new Venezuelan/Marseilles multiKult socialist utopian state.

We should have seen the harsh crackdown coming. I've been reading what, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, the Spanish vice president of the EU parliament said yesterday: We are witnessing the first coup against democracy in the history of the European Union.
He goes on: Catalonia coming out of Spain could be followed by regions such as the Basque Country, which suffered so much from ETA's nationalist terrorism. But the contagion would soon spread to other regions like Bolzano, Flanders, Corsica or Bavaria.

This explains a lot
I think its about money as he says.
Communities of chartered regime - Wikipedia
Spain admits fiscal deficit with Catalonia is 9.9 billion euros

"In other words, each Catalan gives 1,317 euros for nothing in return. Also net contributors to the statewide balance are the citizens of the autonomous communities of Madrid (per capita deficit of 2,979 euros), Valencia (374 euros) and the Balearic Islands (1.373 euros)."

Catalan wants to be treated like the basques and naverre, but they have a very different history, and had always been treated special in some way, to try an keep them from revolting every five minutes.

This wasnt an issue before 2008, when money was being printed hand over fist. But now they dont want to pay for the rest of spain when times are tougher.

So it would be like Cork leaving because they dont want to see their tax money been spent on people outside cork, leaving dublin to foot the bill for everyone in the country.
