That's actually a good idea.
Maybe indigenous Irish.
English people have this division - English means the native population while "British" means every Tom Dick and Harry living in the gaff including all the diverse people who cant speak English.

Unfortunately Ireland doesn't have a ready made distinction.
Personally I suggest using some variant of "Gaelic" to define the native population and then leaving "Irish" as a catch-all term to include all the Gangster rappers and ISIS/ Muslim Brotherhood supporters and the Congolese Taxi Drivers.

Perhaps like the Americas when they refer to pre-Columbian before 1492 and post-Columbian America after that year, we might start referring to Ireland as pre-Kalagarian (Maastrict treaty perhaps?) and post-Kalagarian.

We could have a debate about the year that Ireland started turning into Shite, Id say it was a bit later than Mastricht, Id put it as late nineties.

Yes, but 1492 didn't immediately devastate the Americas but it was the moment that change was put into gear.
