No not Brexit.

Also in December, German Industrial production falls.

France likely to have entered recession.

Didn’t know France and Germany were leaving the EU too...

They would be cutting jobs Brexit or no Brexit

But 'Brexit' is just a Scapegoat for their own failings.
Remind me again, what position do you hold in Jaguar Landrover?

You do understand the single market oh and tarrifs too?
Oh and future business planning?
Yes.
And this has not had an impact on Jaguar yet.

If demand was still good, they'd continue pumping out cars as best they could.
Reality is, they are presently building cars faster than they can sell them.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) boss Ralf Speth says the firm will launch a series of cost and cash flow improvement programmes to boost profits after posting a pre-tax loss of £90 million in the previous financial quarter.

The British firm says that lower sales, primarily in China, were the key reason for the result. JLR sold 129,887 vehicles between July and September – a 13.2% decline on the same period last year, resulting in revenues of £5.6 billion.

If the ''single market oh and tarrifs (sic)'' kick in adversely, then expect greater job cuts.
For the moment, Brexit is not the reason.

You want a litmus test ?

Ford did not specify the number of projected job cuts, but said it hoped to achieve them through voluntary redundancies.

“Structural cost improvements will be supported by reduction of surplus labour across all functions –- salaried and hourly,” it said.

Among concrete steps in key markets Ford said it will end production of small automatic transmissions in Bordeaux, France.

In Germany, it plans to end production of the C-Max and Grand C-Max in Saarlouis in response to a shrinking market in Europe for compact multi-purpose vehicles.
...
Ford also plans to consolidate its UK headquarters and Ford Credit Europe’s headquarters at the Ford Dunton Technical Center in South East Essex.

Job losses in France and Germany.
European HQ consolidating to the UK.
Must be Brexit, right ?

But Brexit is part to blame.

It's not the only reason but it is part of the picture.

Just like the horrid BRC report on British retail this morning.
but you keep saying that Brexit won't happen.
which is it?

I have never said Brexit won't happen.

I have consistently maintained that if May's deal does not get through parliament on on the first or second time., I think she could try a second time then a GE or second ref is on.

I have also said as much as I think Brexit is a mistake, it was a democratic vote and should be respected but equally it's not up to Rees Mogg and his fellow headbangers to be the judge of how it is delivered or version of Brexit delivered.
