About the legend of the Egyptian Princess Scota who traveled to England with a retinue.

It's intriguing, and does bring up some lesser known facts of archaeology. Whether the overall theory is true is up for grabs. But it's interesting for sure.

There is a legend in Macedonia that the first Scottish kings were Macedonians. Scots and Macies share the symbol of the rampant lion and musically, bagpipes. Now, there supposedly was also a Keltic colony in Macedonia for 400 years. For what it's worth, Macedonians were also Pharaohs of Egypt for 300 years - the last Macedonian, and also Egyptian Pharaoh, being Cleopatra. There could also be a Jewish link, since it appears modern Macedonians have a major line which is Jewish, today comprising maybe 20-25% of DNA, but in ancient times probably a little higher, possibly 30-35%. The Greeks and Albanians share this line, too.

Here's one angle:

The origin of the Gordon clan in Scotland was not Gaelic. The Gordon clan is originally from Normandy, where their ancestors are said to have had large possessions. From the great antiquity of the race, many fabulous accounts have been given of the descent of the Gordons. Some derive them from a city of Macedonia, called Gordonia (Close to modern day Gevgelija).

DO WELL AND LET THEM SAY: GORDON

Location
By the Gulag wall.
I think it was the other way around. We know for a fact that the Celts invaded and colonized part of what is now Turkey. There is some evidence that the Celts even reached China and set up a colony there. I think it is very likely that the Celts traded with North Africa and may have set up colonies there. It may even be a fact that the Egyptian royal family were of Celtic stock.

Ireland was originally populated by hunter gatherers who followed the retreating ice sheets after the last Ice Age.
The coastal areas were the first to clear and as this happened these groups migrated northward from the Meditteranean littoral .
Obviously some of these groups came from Northern Africa so a case for a link to the ancient Eygptians is plausible.

[FWIW I am distantly related to Pharaoh Rameses the Second].

'Scotland' takes its name from a Latin word for Irish Raiders Scotti

As we know the Irish did control and occupy areas of western Scotland and converted the peoples of that land to the Christian Religion
