I think most Alchemists had to watch what they said or were perceived to have said because of the church .The word itself conjures up images that are appealing ..It sounds a lot better than scientist .Newton could be considered an Alchemist , he pursued it vigorously throughout his lifetime
.
I would rather be a bard than a poet.
