Watching the Rebellion on RTE and it is quite clear from what we can see and what we know about the history of the rebellion that the vast majority of Irish people at the time did not support it and most were happy with the British government controlling Ireland.

Even when Ireland voted for home rule this was ignored by some of the rebels and it led to a brief civil war.

100 years on from 1916 and the attitudes of Ireland have changed, we are a happy and much richer country today than we were 100 years ago, most would agree that the country in the past 30-40 years has done very well and continues to grow.

Any current thought of rejoining the UK would be laughed at, let alone any political party new or old even considering it. But who knows what the future holds, how bad our economy could become, and I wonder if their would ever be a time that Ireland could or would reconsider rejoining the United Kingdom?

Could it be feasible in 100 years that the future Irish of this country, many who are not even historically tied to this country due to the integration of many other cultures could in fact vote to rejoin the UK ?

Well maybe the Islamic state of Ireland will rejoin the Islamic state of the UK?

Not possible if one is a Shia and the other a Sunni state....

So you support a free Scotland then ?

If you want to be British there are plenty of cheap flights to the UK available. Typical Gaeler West Britism.

Why? What possible reason is there to rejoin? Ireland is an independent sovereign nation of its own, there's NO reason to become British again. If people here genuinely want to become subjects of the Hanoverian queen then kindly fuck off to dear old Blighted and leave the rest of us actual Irish free of such West Brit lunacy!

FGLAB, subverting Irish independence since 1922.
