‘They SHAFTED us!’ Ireland will punish Brussels with shock EU exit, says Dublin think tank

THE EUROPEAN Union “shafted” Ireland and will pay the price with a shock ‘Irexit’, a think tank has warned.

Dublin-based Hibernia Forum said the Republic could leave the bloc as revenge for its treatment by Brussels during the financial crisis.

Co-founder Keith Redmond said the country had been “quarantined” and forced to take on “toxic banking debt”.

Mr Redmond, who is also a councillor on the Fingal County Council, told Express.co.uk other factors, such as a growing loss of sovereignty, could lead to an Irish EU exit.

Keith was a Member of Arch Europhile Lucinda Creighton's Renua Party & this is more clear evidence of a Rethink going on within the Irish Body Politic.

That Rethink commenced with the Eurozone Crisis & was augmented by the Bank Bailout prior to Brexit.

I believe that this Site & Politics.ie are contributing to the Rethink.

David McWilliams, Gay Byrne, Kevin Myers, Bruce Arnold, Peter Casey have all moved into the Anti EU Camp.

Leo Varadkar stated that "the EU was in danger of becoming a Museum Piece".

Keith has now joined Ireland's most high profile thinkers & personalities.

As Nigel said "A successful Brexit will lead to a surge in Eurosceptism in Ireland"...

Not a chance, the EU has been good for Ireland and the people know this and would never vote to quit.

I can't see the Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, Labour and Soros Féin gombeens lifting their snouts out of the EU trough. It's killing everyone else, but as long as they're getting fat on it - sure, that's all that matters.

True but their Grassroots outnumber their MEP's & it will depend on Deutsche Bank, Grexit &/or Brexit

How do you call having our country invaded and planted by alien hordes "good for Ireland." It might seem good for your daddy who packs his mortgaged flats with immigrants - at the tax payers expense, but it's certainly not good for the decent people of Ireland.

Professor Richard Werner states that the ECB directed Irish banks to massively increase their lending for unproductive purposes, i.e. for property speculation, from 2002 to 2008. While at the same time directing German banks to avoid lending for unproductive purposes. Irish banks were increasing their lending for property speculation at a rate of 30% a year - while Germany decreased lending on property. The result was that Ireland and the rest of the PIGS countries are now bankrupt and de facto vassal states of Germany. It was essential that Ireland did not burn the bondholders - as this would have allowed Ireland to escape ECB serfdom and would have defeated the whole purpose of the EU - which is a United States of Europe.

In a way you have a point, the bastards in FG and FF will never give us a referendum on Irexit, and if they did they would re-hold the referendum until we decided to remain.

Xenophobic bullshit. You keep telling us you like foreigners and respect them, but your language betrays you all the time.
