
Several schools in County Clare have been closed this morning following a security threat. Gardaí launched an investigation after a threatening email was sent to multiple schools in the early hours, claiming an individual intended to carry out a major attack. The email alleged that the person would be armed with multiple firearms and had hidden them around school premises. Authorities are assessing the credibility of the threat, and a strong Garda presence has been deployed in affected areas. School management has been advised to contact Ennis Garda Station with any concerns.
"An Garda Síochána is aware of a communication that has been sent to a number of educational establishments in Co. Clare today, Tuesday 11th February 2025," a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told this publication.

Early this morning an email circulated claiming to be from a named individual in which there was a threat to carry out a number of shootings at schools in locations in Co Clare.
